Economic and Social Development: Strive to ensure that women will live and work in safe and equitable environments with equal opportunities for advancement. Current club projects include: · Collecting sample toiletries for distribution to homeless shelter and organizations that serve children. · Providing clothing vouchers so that women and children will have proper clothing when appearing in court. · Provides clothing, food and personal toiletries for Foster Children through the Oregon Department of Human Services
Education: Strive to ensure that women and girls will enjoy enhanced status and will be enabled to achieve their full potential throughout their life span. Current club projects include: · Student Assistance Fund: This committee shops for items requested by school officials and coordinates the School Supply project. · Student of the Month/Student of the Year: This committee will provide local high schools an application for a $1,000 scholarship. This scholarship will be available to high school seniors based on the applicant’s service to the community.
Environment: Strive to ensure that women will be equal partners in the process of managing natural resources, maintaining biodiversity and achieving community awareness. · Recycling junk mail
Health: Strive to ensure that women will have optimal mental and physical health through their life span. Current project include: · The WALK for the Cause proceeds provides detection, treatment and support services for diseases affecting women. · The committee makes recommendations for the disbursement of Walk earnings. Human Rights Status of Women: Strive to see that women will be empowered by being afforded human rights and freedom from all forms of violence. Current projects include: · Selection of individuals and businesses who promote the rights of women to honor at annual banquet. International Goodwill and Understanding: Strive to ensure that women will be equal partners in the attainment of World Peace, tolerance and understanding. |
