Become a Member

Membership in Soroptimist is a privilege. As members we have certain obligations to each other and our club. Included in these obligations is regular attendance at club meetings and participation in fundraising and community projects.


Who Can Join

Soroptimists are women and men of all ages, cultures and ethnic groups. They represent a wide array of professions. Soroptimists are leaders in their communities and believe they can make the world a better place.

SI Albany Monetary Commitment:

  • Dues

    $127.00 Initial payment, $96.00 Annually thereafter

  • Lunch

    $9.00 (optional)

  • Brag Bucks

    $1.00 per brag (voluntary)

  • Dollar Grow

    $25.00 (voluntary)


SI Albany Time Commitment:

  • Meetings

    1st and 3rd Tuesday, Noon to 1:00 pm except during the summer.

  • Participation in Committees and Fundraisers

    Time commitment varies according to committee and event.
    All members are expected to help with the Walk the first Saturday of October.

  • Attending District and Region Meetings

    Recommended but not mandatory, usually one to three days.
