What is the benefit of registering online?

Registering online has several benefits and is highly recommended, as it is fast, easy and secure. If you register online, you will be able to send the Soroptimist link to friends and family and they can register to join you that day, too. Most importantly, if you register online by the 9/16 t-shirt registration deadline, you are guaranteed a t-shirt! Shirts can be picked up at a location specified on the Walk Home page before the Walk, or at the registration table the day of the event.

Team FAQ

What is a Walk for the Cause team?

A team is a group of 5 or more registered participants who come together to have fun and raise funds for the cause. Team members can be male, female, kids, babies, pets (on leashes) and adults. It doesn’t matter if they sign up to Sleep In for the Cause, walk, or run the 5K, because everyone on a team does not need to participate in the same event. Teammates can be friends, family, co-workers, or anyone else who would like to participate.

How do I create a team?

Teams are created in the Registration Form.

While in the Registration Form, under the form element titled, “Are you going to be associated with a team?“, select Yes, let me create a new team.
Enter your new team name.
If your team is sponsored and has submitted a sponsor form, select your sponsor from the dropdown titled, “Will this team be sponsored?“
Enter the password your sponsor gave you
Upon submitting the form, the team is created.

NOTE: teams can only be created when registering a participant for Walk for the Cause.

How do I join a team?

SIA does not provide paper registration forms before the Walk.

Release forms will be available at the Walk registration table the day-of.

You can contact siofalbany@gmail.com for help registering your team online - but try our new, easier system. Otherwise, contact SIA no later than the online registration deadline to get your team registered.

You may, of course, create your own paper registration forms to collect team member information, but you must register each team member online and a release must be completed online for each participant (adults and children, too!).
